The role

Overview

Warren Oral Surgery is a specialist oral and maxillofacial surgery practice serving Warren, New Jersey and the surrounding communities. We are seeking an oral and maxillofacial surgeon to provide consultative and surgical care in a practice built around clear patient communication, individualized planning, and close coordination with referring dentists and orthodontists.

The clinical caseload is referral-based and includes dental implant surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, and related office-based procedures, with anesthesia services appropriate to the surgeon's credentials and the practice's protocols.

Day to day

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate referred patients, review imaging and health history, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Perform office-based oral and maxillofacial procedures, including implant placement, extractions, grafting, and biopsy, within your credentialed scope.
  • Explain findings, options, risks, and recovery expectations to patients and caregivers in plain language.
  • Deliver anesthesia and comfort care consistent with your training, applicable regulations, and practice safety protocols.
  • Communicate with referring dentists and orthodontists before and after treatment, including records, reports, and shared-care planning.
  • Provide post-operative follow-up and participate in the practice's urgent-patient coverage arrangements.
  • Contribute to clinical protocols, team training, and quality-improvement work.

Requirements

Qualifications

These are requirements for candidates applying to this role.

  • DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
  • Completion of an accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
  • New Jersey dental license (or eligibility to obtain one), with anesthesia permitting appropriate to the intended scope of practice.
  • Current DEA registration or eligibility.
  • Commitment to patient-centered communication and coordinated, referral-based care.
