Prakhar Mehrotra, DDS, MD



Dr. Mehrotra is a Board eligible Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, who has had extensive Oral & Maxillofacial surgical training.



Education / Experience


Dr. Mehrotra graduated from the prestigious King George’s Medical University, Dental College, India at the top of his class, with 4 gold medals and subsequently competed his DDS from Columbia University, New York. Always passionate about surgery, Dr. Mehrotra trained in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Bellevue Hospital Center/NYU Langone Medical center. During his surgical training, along with his extensive training in the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Mehrotra also completed his General Surgery internship at the above hospitals and simultaneously obtained his medical degree (MD) from NYU School of Medicine.   

Dr. Mehrotra is a Board eligible Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, who has had extensive Oral & Maxillofacial surgical training, including extensive training in adult and pediatric anesthesia. He maintains active license in NJ, and holds active certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced cardiac Life support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support. He is also an active member of American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association and the American Medical Association. 


    Interests


    Dr. Mehrotra practices full scope of OMFS, with special interest in placement of dental implants, wisdom teeth removal and dento-alveolar surgery under office based and General anesthesia. Dr. Mehrotra has hospital privileges at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Somerset, NJ and at the Surgery center of New Jersey, Watchung. 

    During dental school and residency, Dr. Mehrotra has always played an active role in giving back to the community by volunteering in community events like organizing free dental camps, “Give Kids a Smile”, Columbia Free Dental clinic, among others.

    Outside of work, Dr. Mehrotra loves to spend time with his wife, Mahima along with rest of his family and friends. He is also a regular practitioner of Sahaja Yoga Meditation, and loves to read, play cricket, tennis and table tennis in his free time.
