Meet Dr. Changmin R. Yim, DMD

Dr. Yim graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, after which he completed his residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Dr. Yim served honorably in the U.S. Army for ten years, during which he held several positions, including Assistant Program Director at Walter Reed. He concluded his Army career in 2023, decorated with multiple awards and attaining the rank of Major. He currently holds the role of Clinical Assistant Professor at Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine.

He is a Diplomate of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and holds dental licenses in New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C.

Interests

Dr. Yim’s key areas of interest are wisdom teeth, dental implants, orthognathic surgery, TMJ surgery, and FFS surgery. He has published numerous articles in these disciplines and has been a keynote speaker at the XCE IPS Planning meetings in 2021 and 2022.

His passion lies in patient care and helping his patients.

Outside of the Scrubs

Dr. Richard Yim lives with his wife and their adorable corgi, Mona. Outside of his professional life, he is an active outdoor enthusiast, enjoying snowboarding, skiing, and cycling.

Dr. Yim has had a commendable career in the U.S. Army, which has bestowed upon him multiple awards during his ten years of service. His experience extends to his current role as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Rutgers University.

His professional prowess was also recognized when he was selected as the keynote speaker at XCE 2021 and 2022.
